Connect Lark Automatically and Verify the First Reply
Add Lark from AI Partners, finish the developer-console sign-in and automatic setup, then send one message and confirm that the partner replies.
Updated Doc version 1.2
After connecting an AI partner to Lark, you can hand over work, add context, and receive results from a Lark conversation. Start with one owner and one low-risk message. Add the partner to a client or team group only after a real reply confirms the connection.
When to use this guide
Use these steps for a partner's first Lark connection or after an old connection has been removed. If you already have a working Lark app and want to keep its App ID and App Secret, choose Link Existing Channel instead.
Before you start
Confirm that the MotiClaw desktop app is working and at least one AI partner is ready for new work. Automatic setup requires Google Chrome on this computer and access to sign in to the Lark Open Platform. The final message check requires the Lark desktop app.
Use your own test conversation for the first connection. Do not begin in a client group or a busy team group.
1. Choose the owner of this Lark connection
Open AI Partners from the sidebar, choose the partner that should receive Lark messages, and open its channel management. Finish earlier work or resolve runtime problems before using a partner that is Working, Offline, or in an Error state.
Give the first conversation one clear owner. A single owner makes the reply easy to identify and gives you one partner card to return to when the connection needs attention.
2. Add Lark as a channel
Select Add Channel under Connected Channels, then choose Lark. If the partner has no channels yet, choose Lark directly from Channel Access.
The page asks for a connection method. For a first setup, choose Create Automatically with the Recommended label. Choose Link Existing Channel only when you already have the App ID and App Secret.
3. Finish the Lark Open Platform sign-in
Automatic setup checks the computer and opens the Lark Open Platform sign-in page. Finish signing in in the opened window, return to MotiClaw, and select I'm Signed In.
If the sign-in page is not visible, check the Chrome window that just opened. If setup still waits at sign-in, reopen the page, finish signing in, and confirm once more. Avoid repeated clicks while the current action is still running.
4. Wait for automatic setup
The first setup can take a few minutes. The page moves through preparation, sign-in, app creation, channel connection, and validation. Keep MotiClaw and the sign-in window open, and do not switch connection methods while setup is running.
If the page reports that Google Chrome was not found, install Chrome in a standard system location before starting again. If automatic setup cannot finish and you already have a Lark app, return to Link Existing Channel and enter its App ID and App Secret.
5. Send “你好” and confirm the reply
After app creation finishes, select Open Lark to Send “你好”. If the Lark desktop app is missing, install it from the prompt first. The send action returns when MotiClaw detects the app.
Send “你好” in the opened Lark conversation and wait for the current AI partner to reply. Return to MotiClaw and review the automatic check. If the page asks for confirmation, verify that the reply came from the partner you selected before finishing setup.
Done when
The Lark conversation contains a real reply from the selected AI partner, and Lark appears as Ready in the partner's Connected Channels list. When you later add the partner to a real work group, begin with one small task whose result you can inspect immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Setup does not continue after sign-in Return to MotiClaw and select I'm Signed In. If sign-in is still not detected, reopen the page and check that the correct account is active in the Chrome window.
- Automatic setup seems stuck Keep the windows open and check the current step shown on the page. Save a screenshot when a diagnostic ID appears, then follow the displayed next step.
- Lark does not open Confirm that the Lark desktop app is installed and signed in, then return to MotiClaw and open the conversation again.
- The reply belongs to another partner Stop before confirming. Return to AI Partners, check the owner and current connection, then send a new test message for this setup.
- You already have a Lark app Return to the connection method, choose Link Existing Channel, copy the App ID and App Secret from the Lark developer console, and still send “你好” to verify messaging after saving.

Data boundary
Work data stays on your device by default; only channels you connect and model calls go online as the task requires.
