Quickstart: Create Your First AI Partner and Verify a Task
Add a partner from AI Partners, define its role and model, connect a channel, and verify one small, reviewable result.
Updated Doc version 1.6
Start with one AI partner responsible for a specific task, then review one result it returns. A few feedback items or a short set of meeting notes are enough for the first run. Keep your review step in place.
Before you start
- Choose the installer for your device using Download at the top of the official website, then follow the installation and first-launch prompts.
- Prepare a small input and the format you want back. Remove personal information and business details the task does not need.
- This guide uses Create Manually. Copying a partner, importing a partner package, and creating from a knowledge base have different prerequisites.
1. Open New AI Partner
Open AI Partners in the sidebar and select New AI Partner at the top right. Choose Create Manually in the dialog. If ready-made partners appear first, switch to the option for configuring your own partner.
2. Set the name, role, and model
Choose a platform as prompted. If it is not installed, follow the installation guidance before continuing. Give the partner a recognizable name, such as Feedback Organizer. Describe a concrete deliverable in its role, such as grouping feedback, retaining the original evidence, and listing uncertain items for review.
Choose an available AI model. Use Add Model if you need to configure one. Check that the name, role, and model are filled in, then select Next. Select only the skills needed for this task.
3. Create the partner and check its card
Review the name, platform, role, and model on the confirmation screen. Select Create, or Create & Connect Channel if you want to set up a conversation immediately.
After the creation message appears, return to AI Partners and find the partner by name. Check its role, runtime state, and model. A successful creation confirms that the partner is in the list; the task still needs to be verified.
4. Connect the channel for this task
Open the partner's channel settings and complete the setup and confirmation steps shown there. Connect one conversation where you want the result to arrive, then send a short test message.
Finish any pending setup or confirmation. The connection is ready when the intended conversation receives an actual reply from this partner. A channel name alone does not establish that. Open Connect and Manage Channels for an AI Partner in the Docs navigation for the detailed flow.
5. Send one small task and review the result
Use the conversation you just checked. Include the input, output format, and stopping point in the request. You can use the following instruction with your feedback items.
Compare the result with the input. Check for omissions, incorrect categories, and uncertain items that should be separated. If a correction is needed, identify the item and the requested change, then review the revised result.
Completion check
Your first run is complete when the intended conversation contains a result you can check against the input item by item, and the partner has respected the stopping point for this task. Keep the instruction and repeat it with fresh material before expanding the scope.
Troubleshooting
- Where do I create a partner? Open New AI Partner from AI Partners. This guide uses the manual creation path.
- You cannot continue. Check that the platform is ready and that a name, role, and model are selected. If a partner limit appears, review your current plan as directed on screen.
- Creation reports a failure. Keep the message and check for an existing partner with the same name before fixing the missing setup and trying again.
- The partner is listed but does not reply. Complete pending channel setup or confirmation, then check the partner's runtime state. Open Check AI Partner Status and Choose the Next Step in the Docs navigation.
- The result is difficult to review. Reduce the input and require each output item to point back to its source. Correct this result before assigning another task.
Data scope and related guides
Work data stays on your device by default; only channels you connect and model calls go online as the task requires.
After the first task, open Run a Daily Check from AI Partners or Run Your First AI Partner Workflow with One Recurring Task in the Docs navigation.
